IGT to shut Entraction Poker Network

IGT to shut Entraction Poker Network
9/17/2012

After purchasing online gambling software developer Entraction Holding AB in June of 2011 for just over $114 million, American computerised gaming equipment designer and manufacturer International Game Technology (IGT) has announced that it will be closing the enterprise.

IGT has recently lessened the presence of its Entraction Poker Network in uncertain markets including Israel, Russia and Canada and revealed that this most recent decision is down to a reduction in revenues from its real-money gambling services.

“As part of our regular business process, we have been evaluating our resources, products and markets from a commercial and compliance perspective,” read a statement from Las Vegas-based IGT.

“As a result, we are consolidating our product development, allowing us to combine a number of locations and focus on the most attractive opportunities. We remain focused on our interactive casino/slot offering, which has experienced steady growth, and look to integrate the Entraction products into our overall set of platform offerings.

“Change and uncertainty in European market conditions have diminished the expected returns in certain real-money wagering products. As a result, we are consolidating our product development. We are maintaining our options for future changes in market opportunities. This decision is purely focused on our European .com business and does not impact future decisions regarding entry into new markets as regulation, taxation and commercial opportunities arise.”

As part of the closure, the Stockholm headquarters for the Entraction Poker Network have already shut with online poker providers being advised to switch to another network before December 11.

IGT recently became one of the first operators to receive an interactive gaming licence from the Nevada Gaming Commission while it signed an inaugural Las Vegas deal earlier this month that will see its Double Down Casino social application hosted on the website for the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas.

The Big Question For Full Tilt's U.S. Players: Will They Get Their Poker Winnings Back?

The Big Question For Full Tilt's U.S. Players: Will They Get Their Poker Winnings Back?
Nathan Vardi, Forbes Staff
Following the money trail
BUSINESS | 8/01/2012

http://winsgame.com/poker

Full Tilt Poker
Within the next five days, PokerStars, the world’s biggest online poker company, will pay the U.S. government $225 million as part of a $557 million forfeiture. The U.S. government will use some of the proceeds of the forfeiture to compensate U.S. online poker players who had about $150 million on deposit at Full Tilt Poker, the online poker company that the government has described as a Ponzi scheme.

Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney in Manhattan, put together this highly unorthodox deal to, in his words, “allow us to quickly get significant compensation into victim players’ hands.” Bharara’s efforts will for certain achieve that for Full Tilt’s U.S. customers, but some of them might still end up being disappointed with the result.

The big question for Full Tilt’s U.S. players: will they get their poker winnings back? Several sources familiar with the situation say no decision on this vital issue has been made, but there are people at the Department of Justice who are uncomfortable with the idea of paying U.S. players money that was won in online poker games played on Full Tilt’s web site. “The section that is in charge of the remission fund hasn’t decided that question clearly and that is the next big issue,” said Jeff Ifrah, a lawyer who worked for Full Tilt Poker.

The ultimate decision on this issue will be made by the Department of Justice’s asset forfeiture and money laundering division, which operates out of the department’s headquarters in Washington. It will administer the remission fund that will be funded with money secured by Bharara’s Manhattan office, which will likely weigh in and give its recommendation on what it thinks should be done. Either way, a significant amount of money will wind up in the hands of Full Tilt’s U.S. customers, but there remains the potential some of the playes will be repaid much less than they had hoped.

The Department of Justice has consistently taken the position that online poker violates U.S. law. This position is what led to Bharara’s crackdown on the online poker industry in 2011, the shut down of the U.S. facing web sites of PokerStars and Full Tilt, the indictment of 11 individuals, and a $3 billion civil forfeiture lawsuit. Since online poker is a no-no, according to the federal government, lawyers working for the government are not so sure that the Department of Justice should be paying out money that was won in online poker games.

Numerous sources close to the matter told me the decision could go either way and was too difficult to call.

John Pappas, executive director of the Poker Players Alliance, the Washington D.C. lobbying group, said it would be “ludicrous” for the government to not pay U.S. players what they had on deposit at Full Tilt and said his group will “play a role in the process.”

Pappas claims it would be inconsistent for the government not to pay back all the money that was on deposit by U.S. players on Full Tilt given that the government allowed PokerStars to pay back all the money that its U.S. customers had on deposit after the federal crackdown on online poker last year—and that the U.S. government was ready to let Full Tilt pay back its U.S. clients in a similar fashion, which only did not happen because Full Tilt didn’t have the money. Now, Pappas reasons, not only does the U.S. government have the money, it’s also allowing PokerStars to fully refund the winnings of Full Tilt’s non-U.S. customers. “It would be unfair for players who were successful online to be shortchanged from what they have rightly won and quite honestly lawfully won,” Pappas said.

Still, the government might point to some subtle differences, like the fact that the U.S. government views online poker as being legal in some foreign jurisdictions, but takes the position that it’s not in the U.S.

Pappas also said it could be a logistical nightmare for the U.S. government to figure out how much players deposited on Full Tilt instead of just paying back what they had on deposit in April of 2011. There is still a lot riding on what finally gets decided in Washington.

Full Tilt online poker players in line for $731m refund

Full Tilt online poker players in line for $731m refund
BARRY O'HALLORAN
The Irish Times - Thursday, August 2, 2012

http://winsgame.com/pokerstars

ONLINE POKER players will have $731 million repaid to them as part of a deal that will save the struggling, Irish-based Full Tilt Poker group.

Full Tilt, whose main operating companies, Pocket Kings, are based in Cherrywood in Co Dublin, had its licences suspended last year when a US court accused it of defrauding hundreds of millions of dollars from clients.

Its rival, Isle of Man-based Poker Stars, has agreed to take over the group in return for repaying $731 million to online poker players in the US and around the world.

Under the deal’s terms, it has agreed to pay $547 million to the US government, which will use that to reimburse players in its jurisdiction.

Poker Stars has also agreed to pay a further $184 million to players based outside the US. In return it will acquire Full Tilt’s assets and business, much of which are based in the Republic.

Last month, Full Tilt chief executive Raymond Bitar pleaded not guilty in a New York court to a series of charges alleging that he defrauded the website’s clients of up to $430 million, which was paid to the company’s executives and owners. US attorney Preet Bharara is also taking proceedings against a number of other Full Tilt executives, along with Irish-registered and based Pocket Kings Ltd and Pocket Kings Consulting.

Mr Bharara moved against Full Tilt, Poker Stars and Absolute Poker in April of last year. As a result, Full Tilt lost its licences in autumn, following which it has laid off about 200 of the 700 or so staff who were working in its Dublin offices. According to reports yesterday, the deal with the US government is a settlement of the case against the two poker companies, but neither has admitted any wrongdoing.

Mr Bharara said his office was pleased to announce the settlements by Full Tilt and Poker Stars “which allow us to quickly get significant compensation into the victim players’ hands”.

Last year, the US government indicted the founders of both companies and a third, Absolute Poker, on criminal charges of illegal gambling, bank fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors also brought civil suits to recover $3 billion in profit from the three companies.

The crackdown stems back to a 2006 law that bars US banks from transferring money to offshore gambling websites or online payment services they partner with. Online gambling is legal in the US, but US companies are banned from operating gaming sites.

International companies such as Poker Stars and Full Tilt offered websites in the US, but those were shut down last year when the government accused the companies of using fraudulent means to channel payments from US players in order to evade the 2006 law.

Poker Stars continues to operate outside of the US but Full Tilt became insolvent and lost its UK licence when it was unable to reimburse players the money in their accounts.

Poker Stars will relaunch the Full Tilt brand outside of the US within the next three months, according to its spokesman, Eric Hollreiser. – Additional reporting: The Financial Times Limited 2012

True Value on Microgaming Poker Network

True Value on Microgaming Poker Network
http://winsgame.com/poker/uk

From 1 July, 2012, a new method of rake allocation, called True Value, will be live on the Microgaming Poker Network.

True Value allocates rake to players based upon their historical activity. A player will be assigned a rank that changes as he wins and losses in cash games. A new player will generate a greater-than-average amount of rake.

Poker players will continue to clear their rakeback and bonuses based on the Weighted Contributed rake allocation method. Additionally, the rake structure does not change. No more or less money will be raked out of pots. This is just a change to who around the table has the rake credited to them in the reporting systems.

Note that True Value only operates on cash games; no change is coming for SnG and MTT fees, or for Casino in Poker revenue.

Microgaming Poker Network Prepared To Release Its New Rake Allocation Method - True Value
6/15/2012

ISLE OF MAN – The Microgaming Poker Network is poised to release a revolutionary new rake allocation method called True Value.

True Value works in two ways. Firstly, it allocates player rake to operators based upon volume, activity and win/loss ratio, as opposed to traditional methods, which only work with volume. Additionally, it gives greater value to new players, thus encouraging operators to acquire, retain and reactivate recreational players. Importantly, this new valuation is achieved in such a way that the players themselves will remain unaware.

In order for True Value to not impact players, it will be implemented using a dual layer system, which lays one rake allocation method directly on top of another, both working in real time and supported by data in operators’ business solutions. The end result is a method that values players correctly without alienating them.

Lydia Melton, Head of Network Games at Microgaming, comments: “This is our biggest release thus far this year, and we believe it is one of the most important releases in online poker.

“What sets True Value apart from other networks’ solutions to the valuation problem is that it uses a dual layer system, which does not impact the players themselves. Any players earning rake-based promotions, like bonuses, will clear those promotions at the same rate on True Value as on the current method.

“We are firmly on a path to creating a new type of poker network, and this is one vital step on that path, and follows on from the formation of the industry’s first Network Management Board last November.”

True Value will go live on 1 July 2012 across all operators on the Microgaming Poker Network.

Nevada confident to win race to be first State to offer online poker

Nevada confident to win race to be first State to offer online poker
3/12/2012
http://winsgame.com/poker

The Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Mark Lipparelli, has confirmed in an interview with iGaming Business that online operators with licences and technical systems approved by the state could be up and running for real-money, intra-state online poker before the end of 2012.

Speaking to iGaming Business following the iGaming North America conference in Las Vegas on March 6, Mr Lipparelli detailed the timeline for Nevada’s online gaming application process and also confirmed that the state approval of both license and system will result in the ability to operate without any additional legislation.

“The process from here will see licence applicants appearing on our public agendas in May/June.  For the successful licence applicants, the last step in turning the systems on will be a technical evaluation, and although we’re not certain how long this process will take, it’s plausible, even likely, that you’ll see the first set of systems approved for initial deployment by the fall.”

The technical evaluation for operators filing applications is expected to take place between late spring and early summer, with Lipparelli confident that Nevada licensees who were “thoughtful about their approach and had their systems reviewed by test labs in the past”  would potentially be in operation “by late fall and certainly by late winter or the early part of 2013”.

The full version of the exclusive interview with Chairman Mark Lipparelli will appear in the first issue of iGaming Business North America magazine.

PokerStars to Buy Full Tilt Poker

PokerStars to Buy Full Tilt Poker
4/24/2012

Following the news that Groupe Bernard Tapie’s proposed deal to buy Full Tilt Poker has been derailed after both parties failed to agree terms regarding the repayment of player funds, it has emerged that PokerStars has reached an agreement to acquire its former competitor.

According to several reports circulating this afternoon, PokerStars has agreed a settlement with the US DoJ that will lead to the purchase of Full Tilt Poker and, importantly, the repayment of all players still owed money after the closure of the Full Tilt site.

Groupe Bernard Tapie had been the front runner to finalise a deal for the former online poker giant until negotiations reached an impasse earlier today. A fee in the region of $750 million is rumoured to have been agreed for the acquisition and settlement to the DoJ, although we await confirmation of the finer details.

Bovada Closes Accounts of All Washington State Residents

Bovada Closes Accounts of All Washington State Residents
4/11/2012
http://winsgame.com/bp/bo/poker

Bovada, the US facing site on the Bodog Poker Network, has banned the accounts of all residents in the state of Washington. It is the latest addition to a growing list of US player restrictions at the once US-centric poker room and sportsbook.

An email distributed to the affected players cites “continuing difficulties finding and maintaining acceptable payment options” as the reason for the ban.

Last month, Bovada banned players from Maryland, citing the same reasons for the pull-out. In addition, it was discovered that Bovada had also stopped accepting new players from New York, Utah and Washington State, however players with existing accounts could to continue to play.

Players in Washington State have until the end of the month to request their funds, after which availability of payments options is not guaranteed.

Bodog is the second largest poker network that continues to accept customers from the United States, with Merge Gaming the clear front-runner.

Back in December, Bodog’s US-facing operation was rebranded to Bovada.lv.

But this was not enough to avoid the attention of the US authorities: in February 2012, Federal prosecutors unsealed an indictment against four top-level officers including founder Calvin Ayre, and seized their (unused) Bodog.com domain name, following an undercover investigation that spanned six years.

Jay is also pretty useful at the felts and recently came 2nd in the Red Dragon event at the Macau Poker Cup.

The adrenalin junkie is also a keen Mahjong player too - due in part to her aunt's critically acclaimed book The Joy Luck Club in which bonding around the mahjong regularly features. Online mahjong is now the fastest growing game in Asia with an estimated 10,000,000 playing at any one time. Jay is a keen player of both online poker and mahjong and explains her decision to join Team Bodog:

"The Bodog brand is all about having a good time and they are never afraid to take on the establishment and I like to think that's me too. Bodog88 also seems to really understand the Asian market...poker is relatively new to Asia where Mahjong is still king and I hear Bodog88 will have that online very soon. I've never seen anybody else have Super 6 Bacarat online before either - this is huge in the Macau casinos right now. It shows a real understanding of the region."

She continues: "Bodog Network's poker product is really wild and the anonymous tables have caused a lot of controversy but Asians will love it. They are new to the game and don't want to be beaten by players who are unfairly using their own playing data against them."

Jonas Odman, VP of the Bodog Poker Network, commented: "We have only just launched poker on the site and believe that while still a niche product in the region the Bodog Poker Network version we have will be more popular than conventional European poker rooms. In the same way Asian players prefer live dealer online casinos to the more normal RNG ones in Europe we believe Asians will prefer the protection from sharks that the anonymous tables offer them."

"With Jay as the face of the brand we can take things a step further as she is a trusted and likeable ambassador for us - she can also play a mean game of poker!"

Bodog Poker Network offers hand histories

Bodog Poker Network offers hand histories
3/16/2012
http://winsgame.com/bp/bd

In order to address concerns over the possibility for collusion, the Bodog Poker Network has announced that it is now offering players the ability to view their hand histories as well as the hole card information for all other competitors in a given game.

Introduced following player feedback and available 24 hours after a game has finished, the Bodog Poker Network stated that this latest service means that competitors can request the history of an entire hand, which is something that is offered by ‘no other poker room’.

“The fact that we can now offer players this information is another advantage of our anonymous tables and something nobody else can offer,” said Jonas Odman, Vice-President for the Bodog Poker Network.

“Collusion is a natural concern for any poker room but this new additional feature puts the player in full control. This makes the Bodog Poker Network the fairest place to play poker online in the world.”

Bodog.com Seized; Calvin Ayre, James Philip, David Ferguson, Derrick Maloney Indicted

Bodog.com Seized; Calvin Ayre and Three Others Indicted
2/28/2012

Last night Calvinayre.com broke the news that Bodog.com had been seized by the Department of Homeland Security. The Bodog.com domain had not been used since May 2011. It instead forwarded to Bodog.eu which is the new website for the Bodog brand.

Players in the U.S. were moved to a new brand, Bovada.lv, in December 2011. Calvin Ayre and others at Bodog seemed to shrug off the news that the domain that was used to promote their biggest brand for years was seized.

This morning an indictment was unsealed that named Calvin Ayre, James Philip, David Ferguson and Derrick Maloney

The indicted came out of the U.S. Attorney's office in Maryland. There are two charges filed against the company and their officers. The charges are operating an illegal sports betting operation and conspiracy to commit money laundering. None of the four indicted individuals are in custody

This is unlikely to affect the actual business of Bodog and their U.S. facing brand Bovada. True Poker and their parent company survived the Blue Monday indictments, and we expect Bodog/Bovada will do the same. Both are examples of very strong gaming companies with years of experience.

Eastgate joins John Tabatabai and Hans Martin Vogl in the Ongame site’s team of sponsored pro players.

LockPoker.eu signs up two more
2/20/2012

The online poker site at LockPoker.eu has taken the number of sponsored pros in its LockPro Elite squad to 21 following the additions late last week of American players Jason Lee and Tim West.

Lock Poker has added Kevin Vandersmissen, Pedro Maia and Melanie Weisner to its sponsored team in recent weeks with the Malta and Curacao-licensed domain stating that its latest two signings will join a squad that also features top names such as Chris Moorman, Eric Lynch and Leo Margets.

“Tim and Jason are both great players and great people,” said Jennifer Larson, Chief Executive Officer for LockPoker.eu.

“I am very happy to welcome them. The goal is to create a global family that is diverse in skill, passion, poker and life. The initial vision I had for LockPoker.eu is becoming a reality. Our partnership with the player gets stronger every day.”

Florida native Lee has earned over three million dollars online during his career alongside $400,000 from live tournaments and is a Deep Stacks Live instructor.

Everleaf Shuts Down all US Operations plus France and Malta

Everleaf Shuts Down all US Operations
2/10/2012
http://winsgame.com/poker

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has issued a letter to the Everleaf Gaming Network, requesting that it shut down all online poker operations in the United States. Knowing that there is not much that can be done to help their cause, Everleaf has decided against fighting the government and shut down all US operations effective immediately.

Players attempting to log into an Everleaf Gaming skin are faced with a new set of terms and conditions. This is the most important condition:

18. No person who is resident in Malta, France and USA may open an account, play, or in any other way participate in the ELG offerings and/or services.

In the past, Everleaf never accepted players from Malta. However, the France and USA stipulation was recently added to the terms and conditions.

After an investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, one of the company’s US based payment processors was seized. Along with this, the funds held by the processor were also seized.

At this time, it is unknown when US based players will be paid or how long the process could take to unfold. That being said, the company has assured players that their funds are safe and they are working with the Department of Justice to make sure everybody receives their money.

Everleaf is expected to release a statement regarding player payouts and other related details in the next couple of days.

Poker Pro: Marketing Suicide?

Poker Pro: Marketing Suicide?
By Bodog Poker Network
LONDON, February 7, 2012 -- /PRNewswire/ --
http://winsgame.com/bp/bd

Few things in online poker's short history have remained the same for long including the pecking order on player liquidity which has seen the lead change hands four times in just over 10 years. However, the marketing of 'professional' players as brand ambassadors has been a dominating strategy for some time.

Such players were billed as having an extra talent that others didn't possess and then the marketing people turned them into celebrities in the hope the brand would be swept long in their wake.

Previous to the recent revelations, even the ever forthright poker forums would take enormous exception to suggestions that the big name pros were anything other than just that.

Sadly, as the smoke clears from the horrendous business failures in the online poker industry of the past year it is increasingly obvious that the biggest poker celebrities were in fact unable to pay debts or cheated to 'win' their tag as a poker professional. The latest examples of Phil Ivey and Erick Lindgren thought to be owing $4,000,000 each paints a very different picture to that of the clever, aspirational characters the marketers sold us. Even the 'pro's pro', Barry Greenstein, has admitted that he is unable to pay around $400,000 of debt for many years.

The poker pros have also often been vocal about how poker should be run and some have even tried ventures of their own, in almost every case the result has been the same and the list is a long one including; Phil Laak (Unabomber), Dave Ulliot (Devilfishpoker), Doyle Brunson (Doyle's Room) and to certain extent FullTilt itself.

While we don't pretend for a second we envisioned this personal implosion of the poker pros when the Bodog Poker Network first started working on the Recreational Poker Model back in 2009 one of the first realisations was that the players we wanted to attract knew they were never going to become 'pros'. Indeed, they did even not aspire to be one. As a result we started looking for people who really represented our brand best. Yup, pretty girls, still work! The most recent addition to the Bodog team, Tatjana Pasalic, is not just a pretty face though. She knows poker and poker people but she is also approachable and friendly unlike most of the recently discredited 'celebrity' names of the past.

What is now evident is the gravy train that was the 'sponsored pro' is coming to an end. Many of those that still enjoy a sponsorship are at very reduced amounts and even some of the best players in the world, even those without debt skeletons, like Phil Helmuth, remain unsponsored. Of course, we have seen a dramatic drop in the value of 'pro' players as TV programmes with huge audiences in the US are no longer viable and poker rooms realise they don't drive the right kind of revenue, if any at all. They simply suck money out of the eco-system.

Poker marketing looks to have changed forever and once again we will see a reinvention of how the game is sold to a more mainstream audience. Once again there will be winners and losers and (once again) it will be fascinating to see whose strategy wins out.

Poker players sue to get to the bottom of online cheating scheme

Poker players sue to get to the bottom of online cheating scheme
By Mike Brunker, msnbc
1/20/2012

Eight poker players who say they were victims of a cheating scheme on the popular Ultimate Bet website are suing a Canadian company and unnamed individuals, alleging they violated U.S. laws aimed at combatting organized crime, defrauded players and negligently offered crooked card games.

The lawsuit, filed last Friday in U.S. District Court in California, alleges that the defendants — 6356095 Canada Inc., formerly known as Excapsa Software Inc., and up to 10 Jane or John Does — violated the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, committed fraud and exhibited negligence by enabling the theft of at least $20 million from high-stakes poker players who gambled on the Ultimate Bet website.

It seeks compensation of at least $1.73 million and far more in punitive damages on behalf of the plaintiffs: Daniel Ashman, Brad Booth, Thomas Koral, Greg Lavery, Dave Lizmi, Daniel Smith, Joseph Sanders and Dustin Woolf.

Online Poker

Possibly more important in unraveling the longstanding mystery of the largest known case of online poker cheating, the lawsuit seeks documentation that Ultimate Bet's shadowy parent companies and regulators with the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) have never made public.

The KGC, the regulatory agency of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake in southern Ontario, announced in September 2008 that its investigation found that a single individual — former World Series of Poker champ Russ Hamilton  — was behind the cheating case. But many players believe that it was the result of a broader conspiracy.

Among them is Haley Hintze, a former writer and editor of PokerNews and now a poker blogger who is working on a book on the cheating scheme due out by summer. In it, she told msnbc.com on Thursday, she will identify at least three others who directly participated in the theft and attempts to cover it up.

Representatives of Excapsa Software could not be reached for comment on the lawsuit. A spokesman for the KGC had no comment on the lawsuit or whether it would respond to any subpoenas.

Ultimate Bet acknowledged that $20 million was stolen from players at the site between 2003 and 2008 through the use of a "backdoor" in the gaming software that allowed the cheater or cheaters to see opponents hole cards in high stakes tournaments. The operators of Ultimate Bet refunded most or all of that money.

But the suit alleges that the company “substantially underestimated” the losses by failing to consider money that wasn’t wagered when the cheaters realized their opponent had them beat.

Read 2008 story about the case: Poker site cheating plot a high-stakes whodunit
“The key to the massive success of the cheating players is not simply that they were able to profit by bluffing when their opponent was weak or betting when they had the best hand, but that they were able to fold and not play … whenever their hand was strong (but) not the best,” it argues. “Thus every time a player had a flush, the cheater would fold a lower flush or straight; every time a player had a full house, the cheaters would fold a flush.”

“There are significant doubts about the methodology of the refunds given to players,” said Alan Engle, a partner in the Meador & Engle law firm in Anaheim Hills, Calif., who filed the suit. “That’s always been a closed process and there are inherent difficulties in calculating the amount of the theft.”

Engle said the early part of the case will probably focus on jurisdictional issues, but he said he is confident that he can prevail on any challenges because Ultimate Bet focused its marketing on U.S. bettors.
“Anyone victimized by someone in a foreign nation over the Internet is in no way required to bring a case in a foreign nation,” he said.

Excapsa Software, now known as 6356095 Canada Inc., is currently in the midst of liquidation proceedings in Canada.
Sheldon Krakower, who is handling the corporate dismemberment for XMT Liquidations of Montreal, said he would soon seek guidance from the Ontario court overseeing the case before responding to the lawsuit.

“We will be filing our seventh report to the Ontario court specifically addressing this matter imminently,” he told msnbc.com on Thursday. “… We need direction from the court on that.”
In a report to Excapsa shareholders in May 2011, Krakower indicated that $7 million U.S. had recently been released to shareholders, and that $4.2 million was being held in escrow until the end of the year. It is not clear whether that money remains in escrow.

Ultimate Bet, which merged with another online gaming site, Absolute Poker, in 2008 to form the Cereus Poker network, was among a handful of online Poker sites that had their U.S. operations shut down in April of last year when the U.S. Justice Department indicted them on charges of violating the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, money laundering and other charges. The feds also froze bank accounts holding the bankrolls of U.S. players, many of whom have yet to be repaid.
